This project encompassed a comprehensive range of construction and landscaping tasks, focusing on creating and stabilizing structures such as an arena, round pin, and paddock areas, alongside installing new fencing.
The initial phase involved stripping topsoil in various locations, including the arena, round pin, and paddock areas. This topsoil was carefully stockpiled for later use. Excavated material from behind the barn, where the paddocks were planned, was transported to fill areas in each of these locations. After completing the cut and fill process, the topsoil was strategically respread over all the fill slopes. The areas were then meticulously prepared for seeding and stabilization by dragging the topsoil and applying seed, fertilizer, lime, and straw across all denuded areas to promote healthy grass growth and prevent erosion.
The installation of paddocks involved cutting and grading the existing dirt near the barn to ensure a 1% slope away from the barn’s concrete pad. The subgrade for the paddock area was prepared to a specific width and depth. Once the topsoil was stripped, the dirt was fine graded, creating a crown with a 1% fall in each direction. Separation fabric was then laid out, with overlaps to ensure thorough coverage. Stone dust was spread over this fabric to a considerable thickness and compacted using a vibratory roller. Laser equipment was utilized for fine grading the stone dust, ensuring it was parallel to the earth subgrade, followed by a final recompaction.
Similarly, the round pin installation began with the removal of grass and topsoil, which was set aside for later use. After stripping the topsoil, the existing dirt was fine graded to establish a crown with a 1% slope in each direction. The installation of separation fabric, stone dust spreading, compacting, and fine grading followed the same meticulous process as in the paddock installation, ensuring a solid and even base.
The project also included the installation of new fencing, which entailed a series of preparatory tasks such as mobilizing equipment, marking public utilities, project management, and attending owner meetings. The installation process involved the careful removal and reinstallation of new fencing, adhering to the specific requirements of the site.
Throughout the project, the focus was on ensuring precision in the execution of each task. From soil preparation and landscaping to the installation of complex structures and fencing, every aspect was carried out with attention to detail, ensuring structural integrity, aesthetic appeal, and environmental compatibility. The use of modern techniques and careful material selection underscored a commitment to quality and durability in the project’s execution.
