Counslers Close Concrete Flume

Stormwater & Landscape Improvements

At Counselors Close in Williamsburg, VA, our team executed a comprehensive site improvement project focusing on stormwater management and erosion control. We cleared trees, shrubbery, and debris, then graded the site for a concrete flume installation. Our team installed storm drains and timber landscape borders for drainage control. After placing the flume, we backfilled, respread topsoil, seeded, fertilized, limed, and mulched as needed to stabilize the site.

Storm Drain Installation & Patio Replacement

After completing the stormwater and landscape improvements, we next installed storm drain piping, running it from the parking lot to the newly constructed concrete flume to improve drainage. Once the drainage system was in place, we removed an existing patio, graded the area, and placed a stone base for stability. We then installed concrete forms and poured a new concrete patio, creating a durable and functional outdoor space.

Retaining Wall & Stormwater Improvements

With the patio and drainage system complete, we moved on to reinforcing the site with a concrete footing for steps and a brick retaining wall. We then installed the retaining wall, placed stormwater piping, and backfilled the area to ensure stability and proper drainage.

Patio Replacement

With the retaining wall and parking lot improvements complete, we next removed an existing patio to make way for a new, more durable surface. We placed and graded a stone base, then installed concrete forms to prepare for the final pour. The project was completed with a newly poured concrete patio, providing a clean, stable, and long-lasting outdoor space.

Sidewalk & Curb Installation

Before completing the parking lot, we installed new sidewalks and curbs to improve accessibility and define the space. This included grading, forming, and pouring concrete to create a durable and functional pedestrian pathway.

Storm Drain Basin & Front Yard Grading

Following the retaining wall installation, we installed a storm basin, connecting the drainage piping from the retaining wall to the concrete flume for improved water management. We then regraded the front yard, ensuring it matched the new retaining wall while optimizing drainage. To complete the area, we seeded, fertilized, limed, and applied EC-2 erosion control, along with mulching where necessary to stabilize the site.

Parking Lot Completion

With the drainage system and yard grading finalized, we graded the parking lot, placed a stone base, and poured concrete to create a durable and well-drained parking area for the community.
